We are excited about some of our upcoming breedings. We usually only have two litters a year and these are undertaken with the goal of producing Labradors with sound structure, great temperament, and versatile working ability. To protect against indiscriminate breeding, we offer AKC Limited Registration only on our pups. Although no breeder can guarantee that all puppies produced will be free of genetically inherited conditions, we only use stud dogs and bitches in our breeding program that have been cleared for orthopedic problems through a registry such as the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals and for eye problems by an ACVO diplomate. These examinations are used to determine that the sire and dam are unaffected by hip and elbow dysplasia and inherited eye problems. While no guarantee that problems won't occur, it does increase the likelihood that puppies will also be clear of these problems, and is indicative of our commitment to responsible breeding. We will be updating information on our promising puppies and expected litters to this page.
Upcoming Litters and Planned Breedings for 2007 Information on upcoming litters will be posted here. Promising Puppies We have two beautiful girls that we are running on from the litter of BISS Ch. Surry's Interstellar Overdrive to English import Ch. Trendlewood Song For Guy . The girls are named Aggie and Amelia. Here they are at 5 months of age.
From the litter by Ch. Surry's The Madcap Laughs and Ch. Surry's Rolling Thunder, we kept a boy named Surry's Deacon Blue. Deacon just got his first points including a major. He placed first in a lovely class of 12-18 months at the 2008 LRC of the Piedmont specialty. A photo of Deacon will be available soon.
Older Puppies and Adults
Occasionally, we have older puppies and adults for placement in loving homes. There are distinct advantages to getting an older Labrador that is beyond the "baby puppy" stage. Please see our article on this at Older Dog vs. Puppy. We also urge you to
contact the Lowcountry Labrador Rescue organization to adopt or foster a
Labrador in need of a loving home. There are so many wonderful Labradors
that have been abandoned and deserve to be loved.
